What does Bindle from OF MICE AND MEN by John Steinbeck means thank you?

Im reading this book and the word came up and i have to defin it but i have no idea what it means. thanks

I never read the book, but around here, a “bindle” is a sack full of hobo belongings.

Another word you might encounter, “bindlestiff,” is a hobo who steals from other hobos.

These words are falling into disuse now. These days, hobos are called “vagrants” and they push their stuff around in shopping carts.
