Lisa Scottoline
What are Lisa Scottoline’s books like?

I mean, I figure they are mysteries, but is there anyone who has read them? What are her characters like? What distinguishes her from other mystery writers?
More chance of a “best answer” for the more details. Thank you.

Her mystery novels are linked, in that they all involve a character connected to the same law firm (not that all are lawyers or work there–one is a judge–”Dirty Blonde”). You don’t have to have read others in the series to appreciate each, as characters prominent in one book will be background figures in another. I very much enjoy her books, which are well plotted, do NOT come out the way you expect, and have some cute social commentary. OTOH, they are set in Philadelphia, not a city I have much interest in.
I do recommend them as fun to read. The law firm and its members evolve from one story to the next. At least one guilty party is more than justified (I say no more to avoid being a spoiler).
